In a prestigious ceremony held by Co.OfWomen, a prominent professional and business development organization, three exceptional women were inducted into The New Zealand Hall of Fame for Women Entrepreneurs in Aotearoa. The twelfth annual event, initiated in 2012, recognized the remarkable contributions of Roanne Parker, Kate Wilson, and Brianne West.

Tara Lorigan, CEO and founder of Co.OfWomen emphasized the significance of celebrating women's success and inspiring others to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. She described the Hall of Fame as a unique endeavor that champions the remarkable achievements and generosity of New Zealand's most successful entrepreneurs, providing diverse examples that encourage women to strive for their success.

The selection process for the inductees began in July 2022 with an open nomination process initiated by Co.OfWomen. A panel of peers, chaired by Dr. Lee Mathias ONZM and including Tara Lorigan MNZM, Sharon Hunter, Ranjna Patel ONZM, Wynnis Armour, and Sophie Gilmour, carefully evaluated and chose the inductees based on several criteria. These criteria included significant achievements in business leading to national or global recognition, industry impact, support for other women, and philanthropic activities.

According to Statistics New Zealand, women-owned businesses make up more than 36% of all businesses in the country, showcasing the growing trend of women opting for business ownership over traditional employment.

Co.OfWomen, dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and leaders, focuses on providing practical tools, world-class learning opportunities, and valuable connections to support women in reaching their full potential and attaining positions of influence worldwide.

Partnering with organizations that share their vision, Co.OfWomen has collaborated with ASB for nearly a decade in support of this vital initiative. ASB Chief Executive Vittoria Shortt expressed her congratulations to this year's inductees and acknowledged their role in advancing diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand. ASB was privileged to host the Hall of Fame ceremony, further highlighting their commitment to celebrating and supporting inspiring women.

The induction of these outstanding women entrepreneurs into The New Zealand Hall of Fame signifies their remarkable achievements and contributions to their respective industries. It serves as a powerful testament to the growing influence and impact of women in business and entrepreneurship.
