UN's New Survey finds Women's Strong Will towards Achieving their Rights

A new survey has been taken out by United Nations entitled as ‘We the Women’ which was released on May 30, 2024. The results have been taken from 185 countries across the world. Most of the women in survey polled that they are reconciled in order to put up efforts towards advancing the rights as well as participation of women in government.

In spite of coming across global backlash against women’s rights, they survey reveals that 85% of over 25000 women who were surveyed show will towards contributing to the advancement of rights, exemplifying how women can push gender equity, globally. 60% amongst the surveyed women count on having women’s representation in leadership roles in their respective countries shall get better over the next 10 years, as per the UN Survey.

In addition, the survey reveals that over 2/3 of women all across the world still believe the need of better representation in leadership in national and international affairs. Surprisingly, a total of 85% of women consider themselves as advocates for women’s rights. This shows that women can wholeheartedly consider women’s representation as an important errand.

Moreover, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina J. Mohammed stated, “This survey shows that even in the face of persistent pushback to advancing women’s rights and representation, women everywhere are showing determination and commitment to effect change and to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals. Women know that it is imperative to have a seat at the table and have decision-making power to get things done.”
