The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has issued an exclusive invitation to women and young people from 24 African countries in an effort to promote economic growth, improve food security, and enhance climate-resilient economies. The ambitious project "Developing Green Livelihoods for Women and Youth in Africa" seeks to bring about a tsunami of change throughout the continent.
The extensive training programme, which will start in September 2023 and go through February 2024, is designed to provide participants cutting-edge digital skills, opening up previously unimaginable chances for improved work prospects and money generating. The programme is divided into three parts: online training modules, independent projects supported by virtual boot camps, and community leadership development with a focus on sustainability.
Leading thinkers from around Africa, including those from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania, will come together for a mix of online and offline engagement. Participants in these engagements will be advantageously positioned to develop digitally driven businesses that embrace innovation and uphold social responsibility.
The initiative places a strong emphasis on developing the leadership and entrepreneurial skills that are essential for bringing about dramatic change. This pioneering push supports the development of trailblazers capable of guiding Africa's economic trajectory towards a greener and more inclusive future and is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The programme, which aims to capitalise on young vigour and excitement, is available to anybody between the ages of 18 and 35. But because older generations have essential experiences and abilities, women of all ages—even those over 35—are urged to actively apply. English communication competence is a requirement for participation, creating a positive learning environment.
The deadline for interested parties to submit their applications and be considered for this historic expedition as it approaches September 4, 2023. "Developing Green Livelihoods for Women and Youth in Africa" emerges as a harbinger of transformation, promising to restructure livelihoods and inspire a generation of visionary change-makers. The initiative's reverberations are set to reconfigure Africa's economic landscape.
