Unity Bank Plc has made an alliance with Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) in order to reach out to more than 90 women groups throughout Nigeria through the ‘Yanga’ account.
Mrs Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head of Retail and SME Banking at Unity Bank Plc said in her statement, “The partnership with ANWBN has successfully led to the empowerment of Nigerian women with skills and credit facility with a single digit interest-free loan, which has so far expanded the MSME circle in Nigeria.”
The bank disclosed the Yanga Account to the women’s group while providing opportunities in order to benefit women entrepreneurs targeted enhanced product packages that has capacity building, MSME financing schemes, affordable health insurance in addition cash management.
Mrs Adenike claimed that nearly 5,000 women have been benefited from this alliance between the bank and ANWBN. Angela Ajala, ANWBN’s National Coordinator added, “The association comprises over 90 women business groups with over five million members. She commended Unity Bank for its support and noted that Yanga’s offering resonates with the need “to equip women with the tools, resources and knowledge needed to thrive as entrepreneurs and financial leaders.”
The partnership shall continue to benefit female entrepreneurs while assisting and supporting them in growing across Nigeria.
