U.S. Bancorp Promotes Pres. Gunjan Kedia to Chief Executive Position

  • President Gunjan Kedia becomes chief executive of U.S. Bancorp
  • The appointment to get effective from April 15
  • Gunjan replaces Andy Cecere

 

In a recent announcement, U.S. Bancorp (USB.N) has revealed that President Gunjan Kedia will take the position of its chief executive. This appointment will be effective from April 15, 2025. Following her acquisition, Gunjan shall become the first ever female to take such a role in the history of the bank.

Being a financial service holding company, USB.N caters in the Money Center Banks industry with headquarters in Minneapolis and specialities in Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking, Consumer and Business Banking, Payment Services, and Treasury and Corporate Support.

Gunjan has been a part of U.S. Bank for the last 8 years, joining as Vice Chair of the bank. Prior to that, she worked with State Street for 7 long years as Executive Vice President that counts as one of her long-committed work experiences. She has also worked with Bank of New York Mellon as Executive Vice President for nearly 5 years, at McKinsey & Company as Partner for 8 years and lastly at Price Waterhouse Coopers as Senior Associate for 2 years.

Currently, she is volunteering as Board Member from the past 4 years at PBS; at Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business for the last 22 years and at Junior Achievement USA for 5 years. She has also volunteered for American Red Cross – Massachusetts for 10 years as Board Member.

Replacing Andy Cecere, Gunjan shall be appointed to her new position. Andy said, “It has been a tremendous honor and a privilege I value deeply, and I believe the time is right to welcome Gunjan warmly to the role I've held for nearly eight years.”
