In a recent announcement, US embassy in Islamabad has revealed the winners of seed grant amongst all the participants of Embassy’s Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) programme. The winners will get $20,000 as prize.
All the winners have been selected by US embassy through a pitch competition which was the AWE participants’ 2024 cohort’s final activity. The set of 5 grants will get the winners the chance to grow their business and scale it to the bigger market.
The winners of the grant include: Iman Khan from Peshawar (Gricks International); Alishba Sajid from Rawalpindi (Cardana Utensils); Sahar Munir from Quetta (QuickUp). Besides the top three winners, there has been special mention to two more names i.e., Sana Rehman from Quetta (Physiotherapy Clinic); Zarmina Sanam from Lahore (Skill2Success).
Moreover, AWE programme aims at offering knowledge, networks, and access to enterprising women which they require to introduce their business and scale it. As business has always been known as the male-dominated sector. So for women to take over this myth, they need to understand business and how this world operates in its own way. Comprehension between business and women is necessary in order to bring equality in the society.
