The first Fortune-U.S. Department of State Global Women's Mentoring Partnership alumni meeting was held this week by the U.S. Embassy in Egypt where prominent women business leaders were welcomed from the Middle East and North Africa. The implementation of this public-private partnership between the U.S. State Department and Fortune Magazine has been done by Vital Voices which aims to connect talented business leaders from all over the world which includes Egypt with top American Women executives from Fortune 500 companies for mentoring and the development of their leadership skills.
Alumni included CEOs, CFOs, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Jordan who were present for the Fortune State Department Global Women's Mentoring program. 18 participants were present at the event, Hend Osama, project manager at Almentor was also present as an exchange alumna, who became the first Egyptian to receive the Goldman Sachs and Fortune Women Leadership Award in 2022.
The Cairo conference which took place on 5-9 February kept special attention on leadership development, regional business challenges and opportunities, education, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable goals. These programs held by the U.S. Embassy offer several opportunities for everyone from high school students to well-settled business leaders where more than 400 Egyptians take part every year.
