The 2023 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) application process has officially begun in the United States (U.S.).

Through the United States Diplomatic Mission Nigeria's Twitter account, the American government made the application available on 8th June.

"Calling all Businesswomen in Nigeria! Applications for AWE Cohort 5 are being accepted in Nigeria through The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)”, according to the tweet.

"AWE is a U.S. government project that offers female entrepreneurs the knowledge, tools, and networks necessary to launch and grow profitable enterprises.”

An American government programme called the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) equips women with the knowledge, tools, and networks necessary to launch and grow profitable enterprises.

Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and other places where advancing women's economic empowerment is a top priority for U.S. policy are included in the scope of the AWE.

The AWE employs a hybrid strategy that combines in-person mentorship and facilitation with the online tool "DreamBuilder" (created by a collaboration between Arizona State University's Thunderbird School of Global Management and the world's largest copper mining firm Freeport-McMoRan).

Participants in the AWE acquire fundamental business skills before meeting electronically as a class to discuss the subject with seasoned implementers, local mentors, and U.S. Exchange Alumni.

Additional instruction is given on how to negotiate the U.S. federal grants process and submit a competitive application for funding from the U.S. African Development Foundation.

The programme necessitates a weekly time commitment of at least six hours split between independent study and online-facilitated coursework.

Although most of the programme will be conducted online, candidates will have the chance to take part in one in-person networking event.

The application deadline is June 22, 2023, and they are searching for 150 bright candidates who work in the agricultural, creative, and technology sectors.
