U.S. Mission to South Africa alongside Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has made an announcement regarding the 2024 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program launch in Lesotho, Eswatini and South Africa.

U.S. Department of State and Thunderbird School of Global Management by Arizona State University has actuated an initiative called Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) that supports the U.S. National Strategy on Gender, Equity and Equality and reflects the commitment of United States towards advancing gender equity as well as economic prosperity in Southern Africa.

Having centred on the Francis, Academy for Women Entrepreneurs LESA (Lesotho, Eswatini and South Africa) program is based on an accredited online global management and entrepreneurship certificate ‘Dionne Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative’ that consists of 5 world-class courses, available to learners across the globe.

The program’s overall goal is towards promoting the economic prosperity that also includes equitable economic development opportunities specifically for the historically disadvantaged groups and individuals.

While providing a resource for women entrepreneurs, AWE LESA wants them to take part in online education with guided facilitation and localization, keeping a foot in building network that assists the access of participants to peer-to-peer mentorship, business partners as well as opportunities with businesses to scale in the region and in US too.
