A new 3-year transformative initiative entitled as ‘US Women in Tech Accelerator’ has been launched by Village Capital in an alliance with Standard Chartered US.
Founded in 2009, Village Capital is an NGO that has its headquarters in Washington, District of Columbia, having specialities Entrepreneur Support, Investing, and Impact Investing. In addition, Standard Chartered caters in the Banking Industry with specialities in Personal Banking, Corporate Banking, Islamic Banking, Private Banking etc.
Moreover, the initiative has been launched with an intent towards addressing systemic inequities specifically in funding, assisting women-identifying startup founders. It will continue from March to July as part of the Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative which is funded by Standard Chartered Foundation.
Standard Chartered’s Regional Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing Sonia Rossetti stated, “At Standard Chartered, we believe that equitable access to funding and resources is essential to fostering innovation and driving meaningful impact. Through the US Women in Tech Accelerator, and in partnership with Village Capital, we are addressing the systemic challenges women founders face, creating pathways for them to scale their ideas, transform their communities, and realize their full potential.”
Furthermore, Village Capital US Regional Director Kelly Bryant added, “Our expanded partnership with Standard Chartered US marks a significant step forward in leveling the field for women-identifying tech entrepreneurs.”
