Shivani Singh Deo has been named as Virgin Atlantic's new Country Manager for India, beginning January 1, 2024. Shivani, who has been with the airline for eight years and is presently the Marketing and Communications Manager, will take over as the head of operations in India.
Shivani brings to her new job a plethora of expertise from a variety of industries, including retail, media, and lifestyle. She has made substantial contributions to Virgin Atlantic's brand presence in India throughout her stint with the airline. Notable accomplishments include leading high-profile launches such as the second daily Delhi route and encouraging the expansion of the airline's India network.
In a statement, Virgin Atlantic praised Shivani's remarkable achievement and underlined their commitment to developing internal talent. They stressed that her elevation comes at an exciting moment for the airline's development in the Indian market. On March 31, 2024, the firm will launch a daily service from London Heathrow to Bengaluru, signifying its aim to expand its footprint in India.
Shivani commented, "I am excited to be taking on this new role at Virgin Atlantic and leading the dynamic team in India. We will continue to advocate consumer requirements and capitalize on the enormous growth potential in the Indian market."
Alex McEwan, the region's current Country Manager, will remain in his position until the end of 2023, ensuring a smooth transition for Shivani when she takes over the reins. As a result, Alex will be promoted to Senior Manager - Asia Pacific in the following year. As the airline expands its operations in India, Virgin Atlantic looks forward to a bright future under the leadership of Shivani Singh Deo.
