Visa promotes Women's Success by Campaigning for FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

The FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 is around the corner and Visa which is a global leader in digital payments established around 200 countries and territories as the new worldwide partner. It is now launching a campaign named "Behind Every Number, There's A Story" in order to encourage women to play sports to overcome obstacles in their daily lives and promote women's empowerment in the region.

This advertising campaign centers on the experiences of Team Visa athletes as they prepare for the FIFA Women's World Cup, both on and off the field. Every accomplishment is accompanied by significant numbers that entail a story behind it, from participating in grassroots communities to defending the national flag on the field. This campaign aims to motivate other women to fulfill their ambitions and goals by demonstrating the capacity of people to overcome adversity.

As per the research done by Visa commissioned, 40 per cent of aspiring female entrepreneurs lacks confidence when it comes to launching their businesses. The difficulties they face are of several types including cultural biases that impact on their self-esteem.

However, 74 per cent of female business owners are aware of the advantages of exercising for their operations, including confidence-boosting effects and acquisition of management skills. 43 per cent of respondents said that playing any sport helps to increase their sense of competition.

The coveted Visa Player of the Match athlete award will now be extended for the first time to support women-owned small businesses (WSMB) with a total grant funding of US$500,000 across the 64 matches and potentially 32 qualifying countries.
