Access and the NerdzFactory Foundation recently completed the Women Digital Entrepreneurship Programme (WDEP 3.0), which intended to advance gender equality and economic development. The project, which ran from January 15 to February 9, 2024, provided 500 Nigerian women with the knowledge and tools they needed to navigate the evolving digital business world.
WDEP 3.0, building on its predecessors' successes, addressed the critical need to empower women, who account for more than 60% of Nigeria's disadvantaged population. The programme's extensive courses included key themes such as starting an online business, recognizing digital business opportunities, customer acquisition techniques, social media marketing, capital raising, and effective bookkeeping.
Participants got real information, skills, funds, and tools to begin and develop their online enterprises via engaging webinars, boot camps, and a final summit/pitch competition. Reflecting on the program's impact, Ade Olowojoba, Managing Director of the NerdzFactory Foundation, stressed the strategic relevance of empowering women in the digital economy.
The WDEP 3.0 conference, a fundamental component of the initiative, brought together industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs to share thoughts on women's business development and assistance. The summit finished with a pitch/grant competition, with the best three ideas/pitches from boot camp participants receiving awards to help them grow their businesses.
Ade emphasized Access and the NerdzFactory Foundation's commitment to promoting good change, encouraging entrepreneurship, and contributing to Nigeria's more inclusive and resilient digital economy. He emphasized the revolutionary potential of WDEP 3.0 in promoting individual and social progress in the digital age.
