WEConnect International has hosted a Supplier Development Masterclass along with the Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Roundtable under the support of US Embassy. The event took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Both the event has been organised with an intent to empower women-owned businesses while connecting them with key industry leaders as well as potential buyers. It has aimed to foster economic growth in addition to promoting gender inclusivity within the value chain.
The Supplier Development Masterclass was an advanced training program that featured in-depth lessons on business strategy, marketing, technology, negotiation, and sales. Over 40 Sri Lankan businesswomen joined the program and accompanied Julie Chung, the US Ambassador for the same.
She stated, “I’m thrilled to meet so many inspiring women entrepreneurs and glad that the United States can be part of their success story. When women are fully included in decision-making and economic development, we all benefit. Empowering women in business drives inclusive, sustainable growth for all Sri Lankans.”
