The UAE Gender Balance Council has been chosen by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as a knowledge partner to enhance gender balance globally.
The declaration acknowledges the UAE's important contribution to the cause of female equality in the Arab world.
The award honours the UAE Gender Balance Council's noteworthy accomplishments, which were driven by the leadership's ambition to create an environment that empowers and enables women to excel in their chosen professions and contribute to the growth of the country as partners on an equal footing.
Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, President of the Dubai Women Establishment, and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, reaffirmed the UAE Gender Balance Council's desire to establish powerful alliances that may advance gender parity internationally.
The World Economic Forum selected the UAE Gender Balance Council as a knowledge partner at a meeting attended by professor Klaus Schwab, the WEF's founder and executive chairman, and a delegation led by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, the vice-president of the UAE Gender Balance Council, outside of the forum's meeting in Davos.
As a member of the official UAE delegation, the UAE Gender Balance Council is taking part in the 52nd Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The celebration lasts through January 20.
