Wema Bank to empower 500,000 Women with Vocational & Business Management Skills

An initiative ‘MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme’ has been launched by Wema Bank in partnership with Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. This initiative has been designed with an aim to empower 500,000 women with essential vocational and business management skills across Nigeria.

During a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, the programme was unveiled in Abuja, with an intent to promote gender inclusion as well as economic empowerment while keeping a target on women in all 36 states in addition to the Federal Capital Territory.

This programme shall continue for the next 24 months, providing tools to women that are needed to grow on a personal level as well professionally via a combination of soft skills, business management training, and vocational education.

SARA by Wema of Wema Bank will be spearheading the MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme. It is a women-focused proposition that aims at fostering gender equality by providing tailored resources, opportunities, and solutions to women. This programme will bring opportunities for Nigeria women to understand business and thrive in the realm of business. Through this programme, they will get all the required tools to get empowered in the African landscape.
