Whoopi Goldberg to Launch Initiatives for Women in Sports

Whoopi Goldberg has made an announcement in the 2nd week of November, regarding two major initiatives with an intent to assist women and girls in sports. During the Tonight Show that starred Jimmy Fallon, the project has been announced. Whoopi is an actress, comedian, television host and the winner of EGOT.

In addition, a formal announcement is scheduled to get announced this week. She has also made an alliance with a women’s health organization called ‘Common Spirit’. Headquartered in Chicago, the firm caters in the Hospitals and Health Care industry dedicated towards advancing health for all.

In a statement, she said, “I’m launching the first global women’s sports channel called AWSN. The All Women’s Sports Network will be “the home for live women’s sports from around the world, everything from soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, curling, you name it, if a woman is playing it, we are showing it.”

Talking to Jimmy, Whoopi stated, “We’re growing really fast. We’ve already launched in Asia, the Middle East, India on Jio (JioTV), and we’ve got a big announcement about our U.S. launch coming next week.” The entire motive behind these initiatives is to encourage young girls as well as women to play sports.
