A four-day training programme for women entrepreneurs was recently organised by Bank Asia Limited and SME Foundation under the supervision of the Women Entrepreneurs Development Units of both institutions at Chandpur Govt College.
40 women business owners from the Chandpur area received certificates after successfully completing their course. According to a press release, Mr. Salahuddin Mahmud, Managing Director (current charge) of SME Foundation, presided over the training program's closing ceremony.
Present at the programme were Yeasir Arafat, ASP of Chandpur District, Rasheda Akter, Additional District Commissioner, Md. Zillur Rahman, Mayor of Chandpur Pourashava, Md. Masudur Rahman, AGM of SMEF, Monira Akter, Chairperson of Chandpur WCCI (proposed), Riffat Anjum, and Tazkera Ahmed, AVPs of Bank Asia.
A commercial bank in Bangladesh's private sector is called Bank Asia Limited. The bank's president and managing director is Areef Billah Adil Chowdhury. Romo Rouf Chowdhury is the head of Bank Asia Limited and the chairman of Rancon Group.
