A new space has been built by a Hoosier woman, Yolonda R. Lamar, in order to give other women opportunities to become entrepreneurs across North America. Yolonda is the founder of Women Entrepreneurs of America (WEA) and a Client Service Associate in H&R Block. WEA was established in 2001 and later, was acquired by Vistaprint in the year 2011.

The Underlying ideas behind starting a non-profit is to give the women (who are looking to start their own business but in need of job) a space which they can use to use their potential in order to start a new business.

Yolonda in her statement said, “I don't do business with businesswomen, I do business with entrepreneurs. I wanted to go to an HBCU. I wanted to be an adult parole officer. Criminology and sociology were my background. No aspiration of being a business owner at all. I ended up getting fired. So, I had something to fall back on. So, I started an employment agency. It's called Labor USA Employment Agency.”

She added, “I was finding out that I was hiring people that were leaving corporate trying to start a business, but they needed a job. In 2002, I implemented Women Entrepreneurs of America. We are the source. And I realized even when I started out, that we make it happen.”

This Non-Profit shall give wanna-be women entrepreneurs to use a space to create their business and without stressing over ‘how to’.
