DKNY was founded by Donna Karan in the year 1984, alongside Stephan Weiss. Headquartered in New York city, the brand specialises in clothing, footwear, and accessories along with leather good too. It provides a range of fashion collections for both Men and Women. In the year 1996, the brand became a publicly traded venture with parent companies LVMH (2001–2016) and G-III Apparel Group (2016–present).

In addition, Donna Karan (also known as Donna Ivy Faske) is an American fashion designer, born on 1948 in New York. She has created 2 clothing labels i.e., Donna Karan New York and DKNY. Beginning her career as an assistant designer, Donna joined Anne Klein in the 1960s and later got promoted to associate designer in 1971. She has also received awards like Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award in 1977, Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award (together with Louis Dell’Ollio for Anne Klein) in 1982, amongst other.
