Women are performing exceptionally well in sports internationally. As this year draws to an end GWL looks back at some of the most prolific sports champions who won big in 2024. Like majority of sectors, sports was once known to be the male-dominated realm. Several sports did not allow women to even compete and when they did, their events were given no attention.

In the past decade, women’s representation in sport has increasing with many a women participating in and performing exceedingly well in world championships. Making headline of their victories, some of the well-known sportswomen who have drawn the world’s attention because of their talent and achievements.
