The ongoing Israel-Palestine Conflict has become a matter of grave discussions across the world. Bringing in heartbreaking news coverage and stories from the war-torn area, several journalists have been indulged in the perilous work, while putting their own lives in danger. Let’s meet some such prolific female journalists who have been covering the conflict despite having risk on their lives.

While the world is moving towards equality, there are certain countries where the situations are worsening with the killing of thousands each day. The never-ending military and political conflict between Israel and Palestine about land and self-determination has costed the lives of thousands of people including many women and children. What started with the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel amongst others, has catapulted into a major humanitarian crisis.

Talking about the issue, UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem said,While these atrocities affect both women and men, their impact is gendered and disproportionately affects women. Women and girls of all ages are among those held hostage and killed by Hamas, as well as those injured and killed by Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment of the Gaza Strip.”

Amidst this conflict, what hasn’t changed is the bravery of the other female reporters who have been committed to inform the public about the bloodshed. During this intense war condition, several female journalists lost their lives too, including Shai Regev, Ayelet Arnin, Salam Mema, Salma Mukhaimer and many others. Despite being threatened by the military, these women journalists didn’t stop from doing their duty of informing the world of what’s really going on in the conflict struck area.

Adding to the statement, Reem said, “Women killed in this conflict have come from all walks of life, and included journalists…..”

Some got injured while others somehow escaped the attacks and harassments!
