A member of SWAPO, she shattered gender norms, becoming Namibia's first female Prime Minister. PM Saara’s journey began in exile with SWAPO, leading to her rise from economist to Minister of Finance before assuming the premiership.

Her tenure, marked by economic challenges, has seen her advocate for gender equality, addressing the pay gap and championing women's rights. Aligned with global calls for inclusivity, she, alongside President Hage Geingob, has steered Namibia through critical times, forging international collaborations. PM Saara’s story mirrors resilience and dedication, making her a pivotal figure in Namibia's contemporary political narrative, honoured with the Most Brilliant Order of the Sun, Second Class on Heroes' Day in 2014.
