Most Significant Change/Evolution Retail Industry Underwent in 2024

“Generative AI has been revolutionizing the consumer and retail sectors. Its adoption across industries has nearly doubled, with 65% of companies utilizing AI. Our BSI AI maturity research showed that the primary focus of using AI in the business is to improve productivity and efficiency (55%), including optimizing supply chain management (44%) with China and the United States are the leading adopters of AI.

In the retail industry, AI is widely used to analyse consumer behaviour, predict future purchases and trends, and enhance inventory management, ultimately helping in production forecasting to prevent overproduction. Additionally, AI plays a critical role in delivery operations, enabling route optimization, real-time tracking, and delivery scheduling, which improve efficiency, reduce operational costs and carbon footprints.”

An Industry/Market Trend You Are Betting Big on for 2025

“I believe AI will continue to develop at pace, with more global companies investing significantly in AI in the next 1-5 years with focus on the enhancement of operational efficiency, marketing performance, supply chain and forecast management, waste reduction, and traceability. With the growing number of sustainability laws and regulations, the investment and adoption of green technology with AI adoption will also increase significantly. However, It’s important for all the businesses to also prioritize data security, along with data privacy to maintain consumer trust and comply with regulations.”
