9 MAY2024W MAN LEADERGLOBAL W MAN LEADERGLOBAL NEWS BITESSTANDARD CHARTERED INCUBATOR PROGRAM INDUCTS 20 FEMALE STARTUPS20 new female start-ups have been inducted by Standard Chartered into its Women in Tech incubator programme's 4th Cohort. Ghana Climate Innovation Centre of Ashesi University has implemented the programme while showing its dedication towards empowering women entrepreneurs.The bank's commitment towards fostering environmentally as well as socially responsible business practices is reflected by 2024's program that carries a renewed focus on sustainability. Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC's Chief Executive, Mansa Nettey said, "the Bank is deeply passionate about our communities and continues to create opportunities that will help the youth to have a brighter future. To advance gender diversity in tech for entrepreneurs, we need `sheroes' and changemakers to drive innovation and shape the future."The Standard Chartered Women in Technology Incubator programme has spoken to the Bank's strategy of investing in businesses that are owned by women in order to bring greater prosperity and diversity to the communities in which they operate with supporting innovation emphasis, infrastructure in addition to technology.Moreover, a total of 6 entrepreneurs shall get a USD 10,000 (equivalent in GHS) grant each during the culmination of the programme while putting light on the commitment of the bank in order to nurture growth and innovation in the tech industry with an aim on sustainability.
