Janet Petro becomes First Female Acting NASA Administrator
In the month of January, Janet Petro was announced to acquire the acting NASA administrator position after Bill Nelson, the director stepped down from his position. She became the first ever female to lead the agency after her appointment. Moreover, Janet has been a part of NASA for more than 17 years, making her a seasoned leader in the industry. Primarily, she joined the agency as Deputy Director of Kennedy Space Center where she worked for 14 long years while later getting promoted to Center Director. During her occupancy, she was the 11th director of John F. Kennedy Space Center of NASA in Florida where she managed Kennedy team of civil service and contractor employees.
